Attendees of the Metal Clay World Conference come from around the globe and every registrant has the opportunity to display in the International Exhibition. In addition, the Art Clay Society will have a Member Exhibition. Art Clay Society Chapters are encouraged to submit a display with a piece from each Chapter member. Submissions featured in these exhibitions are on display for the duration of the conference. Entries are limited to two per artist. All works can be listed for sale but will be subject to a 15% consignment fee. Registration forms will be available at the Conference. We encourage all attendees to bring their favorite works to share with others.

Spotlight: Mystery Brown Bag Contest III |
 |
The rules may be easy, but the task is not so simple. 50 entrants will receive identical "Mystery Brown Bags" containing an array of items. Contestants must then use all of the contents during construction (prior, during, or after firing) to make a completed entry. Evidence of the use of all items must be visible, but the item itself does not have to be present in the final piece (i.e. an impression of an item pressed into the clay is visible but the item itself is not included in the final piece). No other design elements outside of the mystery brown bag can be used. The bag itself may be used.
Who is Eligible to Enter?
Any 2011 Metal Clay World Conference registrant may fill out a submission form at the conference. The 50 bags will be given out via a raffle of all of the entrants.
How Can I Prepare? Since the contents of the bag are not revealed until the bags are given out, it’s hard to prepare for this contest. The best advice is to keep the creative gears turning and be prepared for anything.
What is the Judging Criteria? Judges will be looking for complete and creative use of all components.
What are the Prizes? Much like the contents of the bag, the prizes are a mystery until they are awarded. But, ask anyone that attended the last conference, and they’ll tell you about the awesome prizes. |
