Judi majored in Fashion Design at Colorado State University, but fell in love with working with silver after taking a class as part of her art requirements.
Silversmithing, as a career, was never to be, but she still kept the interest. When Art Clay Silver and PMC came along it seemed to be the best of two worlds–working with silver and manipulation of clay. Once she got her hands on the silver clay, she became totally immersed. Glass fusing has added color to the silver and Judi continues to work with both mediums as well as polymer clay.
Experimenting with all the new metal clays that are arriving on the scene has opened up another facet of this wonderful medium. It appears to be never ending, which keeps the excitement going.
Judi has certifications with both brands of metal clay, but has decided to concentrate her efforts with Art Clay. She is a senior instructor with Art Clay World and teaches classes at her studio in San Antonio, TX as well as traveling to other areas to teach.
Her work has been published in a variety of magazines such as Polymer CAFÉ, Art Jewelry and Metal Clay Artist. Judi wrote and self–published a book called "Tips and Techniques" for the Makin’s® Professional® Ultimate Clay Extruder® which is in its fourth printing.

PMC Guild Conference Presentation Overview: Metal Clay Repairs – Pre & Post Firing
We all have those pieces that break, either before firing or afterwards. We also have pieces that we just don’t like after finishing them.
This seminar will help with ideas to solve those problems, whether the piece was broken or just ugly in your eyes. Just as we see things around us differently – like finding textures in weird places or things in nature we can preserve with metal clay, we can turn on our brain to see creative ways to bring a piece to life. Bring some of those problem pieces with you to the seminar. Maybe you will find that perfect addition or technique to make that piece into a stunning work of art.
