Conference Presenter – Mary Hettmansperger

Mary Hettmansperger is a fiber/jewelry artist exhibiting/teaching jewelry, basketry, surface design and quilting. She has taught in Australia, New Zealand, Ireland and across the United States. In such venues as, International quilt shows, Arrowmont craft school, Bead and Button, Convergence, National conferences, guilds. She has authored and illustrated 3 books on jewelry. Fabulous Woven jewelry and Wrap, Stitch, fold and Rivet, and Mixed Metal Jewelry Workshop, all published by Lark/Sterling. Her work can also be found in, 500 Baskets, Fiber Arts Design Book 7, Fabulous Found object jewelry, Teapots – makers/collectors, Pushing the envelope, Beading with Crystals, and others. Television segments include; the PBS programs, Beads Baubles and jewels and Quilting Art, along with published works in numerous magazines.

Patinas

 
Using copper sheeting, sliver sheeting, metal clay and a variety patinas, torch–fire enamels, color–pencils and alternative applications, Mary will apply color to metals. Many samples will be shown and explained, and demonstrations will be given to obtain a variety of colors. Bring paper and pen to take notes and learn a variety of techniques.
